Privacy Policy

Otchi (the “app”) does not collect what you save. It collects only anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, in order to improve the app. This policy explains what data the app handles and where that data stays.
1. What is not collected, and what is
The app has no sign-up or sign-in. There is no account identifying you, so the developer cannot know who you are. The links, notes, boards and images you save are not transmitted to the developer and do not leave your device.
- No sign-up, no sign-in
- No external transmission of saved content (links, notes, boards, images)
- No advertising identifier (IDFA) — that capability is not included in the app at all
- No ads, no user tracking, no sale or provision of personal data to third parties
Anonymous statistics and crash reports are collected within the scope of section 1-1 below.
1-1. Usage statistics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
To fix errors and understand which screens are actually used, the app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. The following is collected.

- This information is not linked to who you are. No name, email address or phone number is collected, and with no account there is nothing to link it to. Deleting the app also removes the anonymous ID.

The addresses of the links you save and the contents of your notes are not
included. Neither are your search terms, item titles or board names. The
“service type” is one value from a fixed list (Instagram, Threads, Facebook, YouTube,
X, TikTok, Reddit, Naver); a link saved from anywhere outside that list leaves no
address behind and is reported simply as
web. - The app does not request location permission. “Approximate location” in the table is a country/region value the server infers from the IP address used for the connection.
- Processing is entrusted to Google LLC (Firebase). See Google’s policy at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
2. What the app stores on your device
The links you save and the information collected from them (title, author, excerpt, thumbnail image), the notes you write, the boards you create, and app settings such as your theme choice are stored only on your device.
This data is included in iOS device backups (iCloud backup, computer backup, direct transfer to a new device). Those backups are governed by Apple’s policies and the developer cannot access them.
Deleting the app deletes this data with it. You can also erase it directly from Settings ▸ Delete all data inside the app.
3. Backup files you create
Settings ▸ Export data produces a single file containing all of your saves and writes it to the Files app on your device. You create this file and you control it — it is not transmitted to the developer. If you share it elsewhere, managing it from that point on is your responsibility.
4. Notice regarding connections to external websites
The app’s core function is to retrieve titles, images and similar information from an address (URL) you paste or share. To do so the app connects to that website directly, so that website can see your IP address and browser information (User-Agent). This is the same kind of connection as opening the address in a web browser; the developer does not collect or receive that information.
The connections go to the address you specified and to the hosts of the images and preview data that page points at (for example a thumbnail CDN or a preview API). These lookups can occur not only when you save, but also when a saved item whose image is not yet on the device appears in a list. The developer collects nothing through these connections, and they do not pass through any developer server.
5. Children under 14
Because the app collects no personal data, no separate legal-guardian consent procedure applies to users under 14. The applicable age rating is the one shown on the App Store.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, this page is updated along with the app update. If cross-device sync is added in the future, that feature will operate only when you explicitly choose it, and this policy will be revised and announced before it takes effect.
